Paper Dyeing:-
Since paper is composed of shrt cellulosec fibres, direct dyes are the most widely used dyes. These dyes produce reproducible dyeings. Basic dyes have litle or no affinity for cellulosec fibres. However. they have high affinity for eertain encrusing material present in wood from which paper is made and also for the products of degradation of cellulose. Hence basic dyes are also used for colouring paper. Certain acid dyes amy also be used for the purpose. The following dye sfine use in dyeing paper :
