Carbon Papers:
Carbon papers are made by coaling the paper with a com- position containing waxes, oils and oil-soluble dyes. How- ever, most of the carbon papers contain carbon black (fmely divided particles of elemental carbon) and a smaIl amount’ of a blue dye soluble in oil and wax. The blue dye is used to counteract the slight reddish lone of carbon black. Some times a basic dye, Methyl Violet 10 BNS is used:
