Preparation for Dyeing:-

The proper preparation of textile fibres, yarns and fabrics is an essential and integral part of dyeing and finishing. The purpose of the various preparative procedures are removal from the fibres of natural or applied impurities, which might impede the penetration and levelling of the dye on the fibres, conversion of the material into proper physical condition and form for necessary mechanical operations and in some cases, application of chemicals to the goods, prior to dyeing. Improper finishing techniques, or the failure to recognize the physical and chemical properties of the treated fibres, may lead to variety of problems during the dyeing cycle. The appearance of resist, marks from silicate or lime-soap deposits, chafe marks from mechanical damage, poor absorbency, crease marks and changes in the surface and dimensional characteristics of certain thermoplastic fabrics result from improper preparations.
