Cationic anthraquinone dyes :

The cationic anthraquinone dyes contain a positive charge on the main structure of the dye separated from the chromophoric system as well as the auxochromic groups by a bridging group, usually by an alkyl group. Several synthetic methods are followed to get the cationic dyes. For example, A green-blue cationic dye is obtained by the condensation of 1-N-methylamino-4- bromoanthraquinone with 3-N, N-dimethyl-amino-propylamine  and quaternisation of the product.
