Aniline Black is an important member of this class. Aniline Black is obtained on cotton by the treatment of cotton with aniline and aniline hydrochloride and subsequently carrying out oxidation with a sutable reagent such as dichromate or chlorate on cotton in the presence of a catalyst such as copper salt.
