High-temperature aqueous dyeing :

The bath is see at 500C with 1% of a anionic surfactant and the required amount of carrier (6-15%) based on the weight of fabric and depth of shade. Run 100 min. and adjust the pH to 6.0 with monosodium phosphate or acetic acid. Add the dispersed colour, previously pasted with a small amount of anionic surfactant, dilute with hot water and strain. Run 10 min. at 500C. Raise the temperature to the boil (95-1000C) over a period of 45 min. and 1.5-2 hr. at the boil before sampling for shade. When the shade is matched, cool slowly while rinsing. Scoup 30 min. at 700C, with 0.2 g/litre of nonionic detergent and 0.2 g/litre of soda ash to remove the carrier and surface colour. Traces of carrier remaining after scouring may be removed by heat treating for 1 min at temperatures above 2000C.
