Monoazo Mordant Dyes

Monoazo Mordant Dyes

by : --

In the monoazo mordant dye series, a number of important members of dyes are involved with various characteristic groupings mentioned under mordant dyes in Chapter 5. Many examples could be cited based on the azo salicylic acid and o,o'-dihydroxy azo grouping. Eriochrome Black A (543) Eriochrome Black T (44) and Eriochrome Red B (544) are the important members of dyes. Eriochrome Black A (543) and Eriochrome Black T (44) are prepared by the coupling of b-naphthol-6-nitro-4-syphonic acid (379) and Eriochrome Red B (544) is obtained by the coupling of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-pyrazol-(5)-one (455) with 1-diazo-2-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid (378).
