Monoazo cationic dyes:-
They are useful dyes for polyacrylonitrile fibre and carry a positive charge by the virtue of the presence of a tertiary amino group. A scarlet dye obtained by the diazotisation of 2-chloro-4-nitro aniline and coupling under acidic conditions with 4-N, N-demethyl amino diphenylamine followed by the quarternisation with methyl chloride, is a typical example.
