Monoazo Reactive Dyes:-
They constitute a good number of members of reactive dyes. One example of monoazo reactive dye having dichlorotriazine ring as reactive system is already given in Chapter 5 under the discussion on chemical bonding between the reactive dyes and cotton. Structure represents the covalent 'ether linkage formed by the reaction of the reactive dye, Reactive Red B. This monoazo dye is synthesised by condensing H-acid with cyanuric chloride and coupling the cyanurated H-acid thus formed under mild alkaline conditions with phenyl diazonium salt.
